On the occasion of the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the University of Otago, DIRI with the cooperation of the Religion Programme, University of Otago, invites everyone to participate the Art for Peace Competition 2019.

3 First Place Awards
6 Second Place Awards
10 Third Place Awards
45 Consolation Prizes

Award winners’ names and work will be exhibited at the DIRI website and be published as Art for Peace book by DIRI.

With great pleasure, we invite Dunedin’s students to enter DIRI’s “Art for Peace 2019” Competition. We are delighted to support this Competition. By encouraging young people to create beautiful images of peace, we hope to encourage them to realize the importance of inner peace for themselves, their communities and the world.

Competition Theme: Peace
Entry dates: 15th April– 1st June 2019

Three Categories and Prizes:
Primary school students
1st prize 150 NZD
2nd prize 100 NZD
3rd prize 75 NZD

Secondary school students
1st prize 200 NZD
2nd prize 150 NZD
3rd prize 100 NZD

Tertiary school students
1st prize 300 NZD
2nd prize 250 NZD
3rd prize 150 NZD

*15 consolation prizes for each category
**All prizes: certificates & vouchers

Important details:
– No more than two submissions per person
– Be creative and free in color and media use

Winning artworks will be:
– Exhibited at the Community Art Gallery, 1-7 September
– Exhibited on the DIRI Website
– Published in the art book of peace of the year 2019.

How to submit:
Email your completed image as a high-resolution digital image file (.jpg or .TIFF) with name, contact details and image’s title and description to “artforpeace@diri.ac.nz“
