Beginners Burlesque 101

This class will take you “back stage” behind the sparkly curtain and give you a taste of what #burlylife is like and the opportunity to learn basic skills.

In these 6 weekly classes I will teach you the moves and walk you through one way of creating a routine for a performance. The outcome will be: an increase in your confidence and a contribution to ideas to empower your experience as a performer.

You will learn:
- The power of the Peel: Glove peels from by gone eras
- The power of the walk and owning it
- Putting it together - parade posing and peeling
- Creating the ambiance
- music for routines
- Herstory: the history of burlesque
- Stage names and personality
- Pastie creating and use
- Advanced class and what it will give you
- Group routine rehearsal for show

This sets you up for the next class 102 Performance Burlesque.

This course is 6 session and runs until 26 June 2019.
