In this workshop you will continue to add to the skills learnt in the first upholstery workshop.
This time you'll learn new set of skills which you can 'mix-and-match' when you start to upholster your first simple armchair.
The first half of the day you'll work on the top of the seat. These techniques are similar to those of dining chairs, headboards and the seats of some armchairs/couches.
The second half of the day you'll be working around the sides. You'll learn techniques that are often used on outside panels of of armchairs and couches.
You will learn:
- Depending on the style of your project, some of the skills and techniques you will learn are:
- How to work with fabric and cut out patterns manually
- How to use a sewing machine to sew straight seams
- How to add foam, wadding, fabric and buttons to a hard-based frame
- How to fold even double (decorative) pleats
- How to create a support base over a hollow side
- How to use a web stretcher to install jute webbing
- How to sew custom piping
- How to do blind tacking
- How to cut a release cut

What is supplied:
- Seat frame with feet
- Upholstery supplies such as webbing, foam, wadding etc.
- Use of all tools need to complete your project to a professional standard
- Tea, coffee, cookies
We recommend doing the Part 1 class before the Part 2 class, however this is not essential.
