Blackadder Goes Forth - The Musical, directed by Geoffrey Anderson, is an adaptation of the BBC's fourth season of Blackadder by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton.
Blackadder is a career military man, but up until now has enjoyed a fairly easy soldiering life as the opponents of the British Army have largely been without the benefits of firearms. However, that situation changes with World War One – the enemy are not only armed but smell like bratwurst and are determined to use Blackadder’s nipples as target practice.
The story is set on the front line and consists of the various schemes Blackadder employs to survive the war and of the colourful characters he is thrown together with: Officers who are overly eager and ambitious, or just plain lunatics; Nurses with the propensity to use excessively large syringes; Enlisted men who have no sense of hygiene and Germans who have no sense of humour.
Included in the ticket pricing is a 3-course meal. If you or any member of your group have special dietary requirements, you must advise these details to Blenheim Musical Theatre by email at least 1 week prior to the show, stating your name, date of the show you’re attending and the booked table number.
