Blue River Baby are an NZ rocking psychedelic soul and funk blues rock band from Wellington New Zealand. A hard working Six-piece outfit made up of killer NZ talent, their original music invites us to find conscience loving connections with each other and our surroundings

The Band who came together in 2016 in Wellington, were drawn together for their combined love of making music to move and connect people. The result that has captivated audiences at their shows, is a powerful infusion of vintage rock with elements of blues, funk dub, soul, ska and soca reggae.

With an organic, rocking sound that has been storming stages and filling rooms over the past few years. Blue River Baby Band pull together an epic group of groove monsters and deliver a unique, addictive sound with brilliant results. BRBB are ‘Dianna Ross’ like Ivy Padilla (Panda) Lead vocals, Cam Crawford Keys and vocals, Jason Hotton Drums, Dave Bamford Bass, Matt Fitzpatrick Guitar, John Gaulter Sax and woodwind.

Their first single ‘Blackyard Town’ was released in Jan 2019 and hit #7 on the iTunes NZ top 200 RnB charts, featuring on Radio in Australia, USA, UK and NZ. Their 2nd single ‘Walk of Shame’ released on the 29th of March 2019 hit #20 on the UK’s iTunes top 200 Blues charts and received radio support across NZ, USA & Australia.

Their 3rd self-titled single ‘Blue River Baby’ hit #1 on the iTunes NZ R&B soul charts and has also been supported across stations in NZ, Australia and USA

BRBB are building a strong and loyal following, they love to play live, feeding off the crowd’s energy and delivering an impressive show each time. Their biggest gig to date was as main headline act for NYE in Nelson where they delivered an electric 75-minute set of originals to 20,000 party revellers keeping them on their feet well into 2019.

In 2018 they recorded a debut album with the legendary Dr Lee Prebble live and loud at the Surgery Studios in Wellington. Lee has recorded the Blackseeds, Trinity Roots and many other fab NZ artists. Blue River Baby bands album was engineered and mixed by Lee himself then mastered late 2018 by Mike Gibson of Munki Studios.
