A "Juke Joint" was the vernacular term for an informal establishment featuring music, dancing and gambling, primarily operated in the south-eastern United States. Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint celebrates a time when life was slower and sweeter when music and food were at the heart of social gatherings.

"A Juke Joint?" thought the Caramello crew. "A-HA! That is just what Kapiti needs as the weather gets warmer around December". " A place where folks can go and listen to blues music in an informal atmosphere, where they can dance and socialise and have some good 'ole home cooking! Everything authentic! The music! The cooking! The struttin' and stompin'! The cars and trucks outside! That's what we want!"
