Award winning theatre company, Birdlife Productions, have created a new puppet show for little people called 'Box of Birds'. The story follows a young boy called Peter who, with the help of his Grandmother, builds a nesting box for his favourite bird, the Ruru/Morepork.
He has to wait patiently while many other forest creatures and birds take their turn in the box. But who is the best fit? Who will Peter eventually find nesting in his ‘Box of Birds’? The bird characters are familiar New Zealand locals and the story introduces young children to the idea of supporting Ngā Manu and the different needs they may have.
Designed for 3 to 5 year olds, we include live music, interactive songs and calling out, as well as engagement using humour, repetition, and the magical wonder of puppetry!
Tickets also gain you entry into the LoudMouth Festival Event in the town square featuring Jody Direen.
