Iconic to the Hawke’s Bay social calendar, the annual Boxing Day Festival returns to Cape Estate in 2019 after another sold-out festival in 2018. The festival delivers the very best in Hawke’s Bay hospitality and entertainment drawing together family and friends in an open-air garden stage setting to bring you a memorable summer occasion.
Cape Estate is located on the elevated terrace of Te Awanga Downs overlooking sweeping vineyards, glistening sea and the spectacular Hawkes Bay coastline landmark Cape Kidnappers. With its beautiful secret garden and tennis court, the venue is set to transform into a boutique festival on Thursday 26 December. Expect live music, tennis, kubb and a handpicked selection of local food, wine, beer & cider.
The music lineup is diverse and tastefully curated, headed by Auckland’s Latinaotearoa, who seamlessly blend local flavours with the colourful cultures of South America. They'll be joined by Ashley Alexander, a rising star inspired by Anderson. Paak, the multi-instrumentalist funk grooves to the beat of his own drum and Wellington’s funk inspired 10-piece hip hop and groove band Raw Collective, plus an additional 9 acts across two stages.
We are happy to open this festival up to all ages, there will be something in it for everyone. Kids 12 & under will have free entry and an enhanced kids zone featuring a bouncy castle. Youths aged 13-17 also welcome. All must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Transport options include free parking available at Cape Estate on the day. As well as return bus tickets to the venue, departing from Taradale, Napier, Clive or Hastings, Havelock Nth and Haumoana.
