'...but the blackness still absolute' was created through personal experiences and research to explore a visual metaphor that evokes the emotions associated with agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder where the person often feels unsafe in environments and can see no easy way out. This is a condition that often goes unseen and is difficult for others to understand.
