Join us in celebrating Matariki by spending time with whānau and friends at Auckland Zoo.
Enjoy kai (food), waiata (song), tākaro (games) and kapa haka.
When the sun goes down, and the animals are tucked up for the night, the Domes at Auckland Zoo will come alive with whānau fun to celebrate Matariki.
Auckland Zoo is working in partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to create a warm, cosy and celebratory atmosphere where visitors of all ages can enjoy a range of activities. In the Domes there will be a Mataraki-inspired digital interactive installation.
Everyone will be able to try their hand at Kapa Haka and craft activities, listen to some traditional Māori storytelling, check out the night mini market featuring local produce and other sustainably produced merchandise, and enjoy wonderful kai and beverage options.
