This workshop is a relaxed, fun introduction to ceramics. We will learn about coil building, which is a great place to start in learning how to make objects out of clay. This workshop will be an intuitive exploration of form using simple, ancient techniques in a contemporary way. We will also be decorating our work using a method called sgraffito. We will be looking at line drawings, patterns and references to create your own personalised work.
This workshop will be over two Saturdays using earthenware clay. We will also be creating our own tools in order to achieve your desired results. What you make will then be kiln-fired and yours to keep. Fired work to be picked up at a later date. This workshop is suitable for beginners to pottery or practising artists in different mediums that are looking for a new creative outlet.
Cost includes all materials and kiln hire/firing costs.
