This training is designed for organisations who engage with children. Including staff, whether paid or unpaid who work with children and young people in Hawkes Bay.
This is essential training for working with children and young people and will meet your obligations under your Child Protection Policy. Certificates of attendance will be emailed to participants and this can be used if you are audited under the Children's Act (your organisation receives government money directly or indirectly).
What will be covered:
-Child abuse and the impact on children and young people
-Identifying and responding to child abuse and neglect
-Keeping young people at the centre of good practice
-Safe working practices to keep children and staff safe
Workshops are interactive and involve group work, audio visuals and scenarios to really enhance understanding.
Leanne is based in the Waikato and travelling to Hawkes Bay to deliver training for a local organisation. She is running this training while she is there so the wider local community can access it.
Leanne is an experienced facilitator in Safeguarding and Child Protection Training, with knowledge in supporting organisations across NZ. She specialises in sport and recreation and has worked with youth service providers, local councils, youth mentoring organisations, after-school care providers, holiday programmes and regional and national sports organisations.
