A haka pōwhiri for the flotilla will take place at the Hihiaua Cultural Centre on Nov 2. Waka haurua will line the estuary as a back-drop to the famous ‘Waka and Wave’ sculpture. The tangata whenua, and the Hihiaua Cultural Centre in partnership with Whangarei District Council collaborate to bring this event to our community.
This event is part of the Tuia – Encounters 250 programme.
