Daryl Ainsley Memorial Meeting

Close to 100 speedway cars, drivers and crews from all over the South Island are converging on Heavy Trax Hire Central Motor Speedway on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 to pay tribute to immediate past-president Daryl Ainsley who in May last year was tragically taken far too soon.
And like Daryl always did, you can count on these drivers giving 110 percent to be their class winner of the inaugural Daryl Ainsley Memorial Trophy.
What could be more action-packed or heart-thumping exciting than big fields of flame belching, snarling super saloons; low and wide saloons; ‘winged demon’ 900 horsepower sprintcars, Commodore powered six shooters (aka wingless sprintcars), shrunk in the wash youth ministocks and zippy productions.
Both days have heaps of added attractions...
- Smokin’ Burn Out
- Rockin’ Hot ‘Noise Complaint (Sat only)
- Groovy Merchandise (sales of these t-shirts, wrist bands and mare together with a percentage of gate takings will be contributed to generating funds for a permanent memorial recognising Daryl Ainsley and the speedway’s builder Ron Spriggs)
- Kids Lolly Scramble
- Fantastic Food Concessions
Gates for trackside parking open 3pm. Jandal to the metal racing starts 5pm. For updates and possible postponement/cancellation visit Central Motor Speedway Facebook.
