3 bands of a darkly psychedelic, post-punk persuasion - a night not to be missed - featuring Deaf // Étienne De Silhouette, Column of Sand.
A 3 band meeting of minds - of a darkly psychedelic, post-punk persuasion - a night not to be missed - featuring:
Deaf have previously thrived in the sub tropical climes of Valhalla and parties, moving onto collaborations with filmmakers and shows in unlikely locations such as the TAB and the streets they once called home.
After a crazy 7 months which saw Deaf tour NZ and support the likes of Jesus and The Mary Chain, Drab Majesty and Peter Murphy, Deaf needed a rest.
However they are back with a new set encompassing new songs to be recorded and the old ones from the Deaf EP.
Étienne De Silhouette have spent the early part of the year working on their debut E.P., which they look forward to unveiling in the near future.
But tonight, being a belated Halloween celebration, they’re looking forward to being back on stage and playing tribute to some of artists that have inspired them... spanning from late 70’s post punk, through 80’s new wave, to darker classics and unexpectated rarities from the 90’s & 00’s.
Column of Sand is a post-gaze guitar band from Wellington influenced by Ride, My Bloody Valentine, and Fugazi.
Guy, Lorena and Blair have a shared history, originating in the musical swamp of Palmerston North, and former bands include Noddy on the Cross, No San Pedro, Fader, Hoopla! and The National Office.
