A weekend retreat (March 8th - 10th) blending Meditation and Dances of Universal Peace (Sufi Sesshin) with Prem Provan and Amrita Bhakti.

"The Dances of Universal Peace are an excellent way to prepare for Meditation and Meditation is an excellent way to prepare for Dances of Universal Peace.”

Samuel Lewis – Zen Roshi and originator of Dances of Universal Peace.

About the Retreat
In a beautiful natural setting, you will be gently guided in this retreat interweaving Dances of Universal Peace and Zikr with Meditation.

Alternating sitting meditation with moving meditatively, these powerful vehicles for experiencing the Divine Reality reconnect us with the Oneness of All Life, our true home. Meditation does this through the breath, silence and stillness while the Dances also include the qualities of ecstasy, intimacy and devotion.

Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) and Zikr
Weaving the power of sacred sound (chants) and live music together with devotionally moving in unison, we can enjoy a living experience of unity with all, and a natural arising of inner peace and celebrating many spiritual traditions.

Meditation
The focus is on watching our breath, being silent and still, facilitating becoming present with whatever is within ourselves.

Who is it Suitable For?
This retreat is suitable for:
- Beginners with no previous experience of Dances of Universal Peace or Meditation – All are warmly welcome
- Experienced meditators and dancers wishing to deepen in these practices
- Anyone needing to unwind, relax, restore and refocus in their life in a quiet, peaceful environment

Venue:
The venue for the retreat is the beautiful Tushita Hermitage in Peria Valley, Doubtless Bay, Northland. Set amongst the sub-tropical Northland vegetation, the Tushita Hermitage provides a unique and safe sanctuary with plenty of space, shared communal areas and also places where you can spend time alone, for contemplation and relaxation.

Accommodation and Meals:
On-site accommodation and vegetarian meals are provided. Accommodation is in shared rooms. Some single/twin rooms are available for an extra $20/night.

Price:
This retreat is $230(or $270/single room) plus dana/koha for Prem and Amrita. The $230(or $270) covers all your meals and accommodation. The facilitator fee is not set and consists entirely of your Dana offering. Dana (meaning generosity) invites each person to offer according to their means and what the retreat has been worth to them. Dana payment is given at the end of the retreat.

Facilitators Amrita Bhakti and Prem Provan:
Amrita Bhakti and Prem are experienced and certified leaders and trainers of the Dances of Universal Peace and active practitioners of meditation. They have been leading Dances of Universal Peace events including meditation for many years.

"...I have mostly lived through a complex mind to suppress my feeling side therefore what Amrita Bhakti and Prem offer challenges me to expose what is suppressed...Sufi Sesshin is one way to do this; it should be part of every day life as much as thinking!.." - Nu Wa

"...This simple form of dance and silence creates the opportunity to surrender into the Unknown. With these gentle yet joyful guides, self effort falls away leaving one in the joy of breath and being here: coming back to your truer self. Celebrate through stillness and movement the already whole unified present moment called Life." - Agni Prava

“…I love the taste of phrases in ancient languages, all praising the Divine which I am part of. I enjoy the company and engagement with others, I adore the palpable devotion and clarity of the facilitators. There’s the opportunity to express the gratitude, happiness and fullness of Life that is me…” -Zsuzsanna
