This July, enjoy a special 3-course surprise menu at Dans Le Noir? Rydges Auckland as we take part in the Elemental AKL. Featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients from Earth to plate and inspired by the Creation Story from Maori mythology.
Dans le Noir? (French for “In the Dark?”) is an international company offering patrons a unique experience by eating in complete darkness, guided and served by low vision or blind people. More than 1.5 million people have already lived this experience worldwide.
Your evening will be full of conviviality, excitement but also self-questioning. A full immersion in this sensual dining adventure will impress you as a once lifetime experience.
What is Elemental AKL?
Elemental AKL is a new region-wide festival illuminating Tāmaki Makaurau during winter. Enjoy a captivating programme of more than 50 free and ticketed events which celebrate Auckland’s energy and vibrancy through light, cuisine, culture, and entertainment. Drawing on the elements of air, fire, earth, and water, Auckland’s newest festival will transform eateries and bars, theatres, parks and islands, public spaces, and more throughout the month of July.
As part of the festival, Elemental Feast will tell the unique food story of Auckland through gastronomic experiences and unique pop-up events with more than 100 restaurants involved. Elemental AKL will delight, inspire and show you why Tāmaki Makaurau is a place unlike any other.
We are open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6:30pm. Options of matching wines are available on request on arrival. The restaurant also welcomes corporate, private and special events on request every day of the week on request.
