The plaster house believes that no child in Tanzania should live with a treatable disability. This fundraising is to help support the care of the children by providing an interactive therapeutic playground at The Plaster House to improve the mobility and strength of patients.
Over 30% of The Plaster House's patients have treatment or surgery for orthopaedic related disabilities, such as clubfoot and fluorosis with another 10% suffering from spina bifida. Whilst all The Plaster House's patients will benefit from the interactive therapeutic playground, spina bifida and fluorosis patients will be the greatest beneficiaries.
The playground will include parallel bars to assist walking and tumble foam shapes to provide the opportunity for patients to improve their strength and mobility with fun activities. This will allow patients to recover quicker from their treatment/surgery.
