Short Films: Intimate Personal Docs from the Asian Diaspora

In This Family
USA/Philippines | 2018 |12mins | English | Dir. Drama del Rosario

In This Family looks at how one traditional Filipino family reacts to learning they have a gay son…and daughter. Del Rosario shares all through video-conference calls between Los Angeles and Manila with both heart-breaking and hysterically funny results.

All In The Family [working title]
USA | 2019 |40mins | English | Dir. Hao Wu

All in The Family [working title] is a preview work-in-progress of the brand new, intimate, revelatory film from award-winning filmmaker Hao Wu (PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF DESIRE; 2018 Doc Edge Best International Director). It’s the heartfelt, cross-cultural story of Chinese-born filmmaker Hao who turns the camera onto himself as he struggles to understand the meaning of family, boldly builds one of his own in the U.S., and then faces the riveting dilemma of how to introduce his partner and children to his traditional extended family in China.
All in My Family is the heartfelt, cross-cultural story of Chinese-born filmmaker Hao Wu who has struggled to understand the meaning of family and to build one of his own.
