A workshop where you can use scissors to create innovative new artworks. In this workshop, Marilyn Jones will introduce you to a variety of materials, to create new shapes that will challenge conventional views of the world around you. The workshop is free to attend and open to all ages and abilities.
Artists Biography:
Marilyn Jones is a Wellington based artist whose practice explores and interprets the interactions and relationships of line. Jones’ draws inspiration from modernist influences – from ‘drawing in space’ and collage techniques, to the contemplation of 1960s minimal abstraction.
Jones completed her Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons) degree at Whiti o Rehua College of Creative Arts at Massey University Wellington. She has been a finalist in several award shows, including the National Contemporary Art Award 2019, Parkin Drawing Prize 2017 and 2018, and the Wallace Art Award 2018.
