Printmaker Bridget Allen will teach children/youths aged from 8 to 18-years-old the basics of drypoint printmaking using the Arts Centre buildings (week one) or portrait (week two) photographs brought from home as inspiration.
Drypoint printing is a basic form of intaglio printmaking, where a sharp implement is used to scratch marks into a flat surface. These marks are then filled with printing ink and paper is placed over the image before it is pulled through a printing press to transfer the image onto the paper.
Things might get messy in these workshops, so please bring art clothes or an apron.
Bookings are essential and non-refundable.
