Learn how to throw on a potters wheel using a step-by-step approach developing basic
techniques or refining your skills.
Get acquainted with ceramic terminology such as green-ware, leather-hard, bisque and glazed-ware. Have some fun and a laugh or two while learning to make bowls, vases and cups. A hand building session is also included, making a trinket box and/or an oval plate. After successfully making your items, learn how to glaze them using the methods such as under-glaze painting and over-glaze dipping. Wear old clothing, and bring an apron!
Materials required:
Students must have their own clay and basic clay tool kit.
Tool Kits can be purchased directly from Tutor for $12.00
Clay available from Estuary Arts Centre or CCG Industries, Triton Ave Albany
Glazing and Firing costs are extra
