As regular performers at the various NZ Folk Clubs, Music Festivals, House Concerts and venues from the far north to the far south and across the sea, this line-up blends their musical influences - Celtic, Trad, Americana, Country, Jazz and Blues – with a set of classic Eagles hits from the 70s, 80s & 90s.

With a shared love of singing harmonies and acoustic music, the Eagals ‘took flight’ during the final Blackboard concert at the iconic Te Rangi Music Festival in January this year. Their renditions of some Eagles Classics were well received, so in May they gathered for a showcase at the Levin War Memorial Hall, as part of Kings Sound Centre ‘Levin Music Month’ programme.

Group member and Levin local, Jo Sheffield, a member of the Levin Folk Music Club says she is very excited to be playing with some of her favourite performers. Lynne Wilkins and Erin Manu are traveling from Raglan and New Plymouth. While the remaining members, Jenny Kilpatrick, Jude Madill and Carol Bean travel up from Wellington.

According to Manu, "Like the Eagles, aside from the ability to sing in tune and harmony the only other requirement for a group member is to be a multi-instrumentalist. And, despite the Eagles being a 5-piece lineup, this All-Female lineup is happy to work with what’s available. So, in the future it could be a fluid lineup”. Manu herself plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, bass and percussion. Other members play violin, mandolin, flute, pipes, bass, percussion and everyone plays guitar.

This is a fun project for the members, all of whom have multiple music projects on the go. The concert kicks off with a showcase of some original compositions. All members of the group have performed with their various bands at the Horowhenua Scottish Society Hall, 155 Bartholomew Rd, home of the Levin Folk Music Club. Door sales from 7pm - $15/$10 unwaged and LMFC members. Show starts at 7.30pm.
