Early Reading Together

You are invited to attend one workshop at Kid’s Count, where you will learn to help your children develop a love of language and reading.

The “Early Reading Together” programme consists of a workshop of one and a half hours, for small groups of whanau. The programme is aimed at babies to 5-6-year olds to support their language and literacy development. Early language and literacy support are shown to raise reading achievement in a sustained manner. The workshops will be led by a local Resource Teacher of Literacy and an Education Consultant.

The workshops will:
- Help you to develop your child’s oral language and early reading skills at home.
- Give more information about ways to encourage young readers and writers.
- Learn about the Pukekohe Library and ways to use books with young children.
- Share ideas about how to motivate children to enjoy books.
