In our show, we will invite you on a journey of love, longing, and ecstasy. Surrender to the rhythms of our songs, and let your heart align itself to the beats of our drums.
In a wave like progression we will take you through five moods, ideas, states of being, corresponding with the rhythms we play. Engage with us, play with us, dance with us as we are lighting a cosmic fire and awakening the immense reservoir of ecstatic energy within ourselves. Come for an intimate exploration of the universe of love within yourself or simply for a good time on the dance floor. We open and end the night in ceremonial style with poetry from the Sufi tradition shared by Duke McLeod, while therapeutic dance instructor Catherine Schroder initiates us to the ecstatic dance experience. Catherine has been a dancer and singer most of her life and is well known in Dunedin and beyond for her wonderful West-African dancing and teaching and Duke has been dancing and chanting on the Sufi path since a deep experience triggered a shock conversion seven years ago. Together, we will bring you to the moon and back.
