Ecstatic Dance is a 2 hour dance party based on a formula.
Ecstatic Dance is a fast growing, global movement of 'conscious' dance events.
There are rules for the host/dj/facilitator & for the dancers.
The host must ensure:
- The music must be modern, bass heavy, dance floor activating and mostly unknown to the audience.
- The music covers many genres, tempos, styles and countries and not be lyrically offensive.
- The music is mixed live by a competent DJ and create a flow or journey...
The dancers rules:
no drugs, no alcohol, no chitchat, no judgement, no photos, no phones, no shoes (sox okay). respect others space, respect the venue. We encourage you to: hollar, hoot, howl, dance, express yourself, have fun, explore all movement, share space, flow, release, respect, sweat, jump, lay on the floor, do yoga, connect with others.
What is Ecstatic Dance?
It's like a dance club... but without the shoes, phones, spectators, booze, smoke or drugs... it's a guaranteed evening of really good music that moves you in ways you didn't know you could!
It's a dance floor for 2 hours only... where you can be free to dance deep without inhibition or interruption. Simple, sensual and spectacular. Expect epic peaks & deep warm depths... finished off with a mini sound healing meditation.
The dance is self guided, so all you have to do is follow the music or let the music guide you.
Move how you feel and feel how you move. Find yourself... then find others.
The dance floor is wooden and the sound system is huge and clear - with 2 massive subs that vibrate the floor.
