We grow great food in our region and this is an exciting time for food production. The world is changing fast and the opportunities for food producers are enormous. Come along - hear from world -class thought-leaders about the future of food, and draw on inspiration about what the future of our food-producing region might be.

If you’re involved in food production or processing you won’t want to miss this. Our superb line-up of speakers includes:
Julia Jones (NZX) is passionate about inspiring a new generation of food producers, she believes this will ensure long term economic relevance for our rural communities. Her 6 years with KPMG fuelled her understanding global trends and their impact on NZ, and this led to her new role as the Head of Analytics with NZX.

Julia lives in the Waikato and feels extremely privileged be part of such a supportive rural community. Julia is a member of the primary sector council that is tasked with creating a vision for the NZ Food and Fibre sector.

Matt Crawford (Zespri) returned to New Zealand in January 2019 to take up the newly created role of Operating Model Lead. Prior to taking up this new role, Matt spent two years with Zespri in the United States as the Business Strategy Manger – looking at how best to develop Zespri’s operational and distribution model to enable rapid, sustainable growth, and before that, three years in China as Head of Corporate Relations.

Michael Mayell’s Cookie Time story begins in the kitchen of a one-bedroom flat in Christchurch. Later he loads up his Mini Clubman van and delivers his first batch of giant cookies to Christchurch dairies. New Zealand had not seen anything like it before! Kiwis fell in love, and the love affair continues today. Michael will share with us his journey From Cookie Time and Nutrient Rescue to Drinkable Rivers and Astonishing Cannabis.
