New Zealand has a comprehensive set of employment laws that help keep workplaces fair. It is mandatory for the employers to be aware of these rules, and what rights and responsibilities they have.

With that said, there are still many employers, who face disputes and penalties for failing to comply with the minimum employment standards, unfairly dismissing employees, infringing upon employees’ privacy or breaching holiday entitlements.

With the vision to promote good practice among the business and professionals in the building industry, New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association together with MultiMarketing proposes to organize a workshop for experts to share expertise and offer advice, and for employers to ask questions and discuss on employment issues.

The workshop targets employers—SMB owners, company directors, HR managers, and other senior management & leaders. It aims to provide the answers for the questions: what are the best practices for a good employer, what are the must-dos to meet the essential legal requirements when onboarding new hires and what are the necessary procedures to follow for the employers when dealing with disputes, how to develop a performance management system and help maintain healthy employment relationship and retain the most valuable intangible assets in the company.
