‘Photographers are not paid for their time, but are willing to do what they think will be successful, thus making them more creative.’
The major influences on Desmond Hunt’s photography are the British photographer Cecil Beaton, and the New Zealand photographer Brian Brake whose work appeared in Time Life magazine.
For the past ten years Desmond has been a photographer. He was mentored by the famous New Zealand motorsport photographer Terry Marshall. Desmond’s work has been published in New Zealand motorcycle magazines, such as BikeRider magazine.
Through the manager at the Bodega Bar in Wellington, he was invited to do music photography in 2010. So Desmond branched out and took photos of the bands. He has photographed artists such as The Vibrators, The Skatalites, Lydia Lunch, The Melvins, The Ruts, GBH, The Dickies, Black Mountain, Cheerie Currie, and The Verlaines.
Desmond always shoot in RAW File and converts back to JPEG.
