Open your heart and receive the purifying blessings of the Buddha of Compassion. Through fasting, chanted prayers, and making beautiful offerings, prostrations and requests, we grow close to 1000-armed Avalokiteshvara and purify past negativity – the cause of our present misfortune and suffering.
Each morning we will take the Mahayana precepts, promising not to engage in negative actions of body, speech, and mind; then we limit our intake of food and water (according to our capacity) to purify our negative Karma. We will engage as a group in three rounds of prayers and prostrations each day. Everyone is welcome to experience this profound and blessed practice.
The precepts at 7am are necessary if you want your retreat to be a qualified Nyungne retreat.
