Get into the spirit of Wild Dunedin these school holidays by designing a flying creature to try out on the Flight Zone table in the Tūhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre. Using the supplies we provide and your imagination, design an object that can fly high and with style to beat the competition!

Learn about the science involved in flight that makes it possible for things to fly. Will you design an animal like our royal albatross with its huge wingspan or something small and lightweight like the pīwakawaka? Or will you take your inspiration from the Museum's beautiful butterflies...

Enter your best creation and be in to win a family pass to visit Tūhura or the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium.

Once you've created your design, you'll need to film it in flight. Science Communicators will be on hand to record entries between 2pm and 3pm daily or you can film your creation yourself and email us the footage. Entry into the competition is included with your Tūhura admission and full details will be provided inside the science centre.

Science Communicators will be available to film entries between 2pm and 3pm daily.
Usual Tūhura admission prices apply.
