Formula Challenge in Style

Following on from last year’s successful event, we are presenting a new variation on the same theme for those of you who had so much fun during the inaugural presentation. If you missed out last time round, now is the time to join us for a series of unforgettable high-speed, adrenalin-fuelled motorsport experiences.

Hit the track at Taupo’s custom-built Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, New Zealand’s only Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Grade 2-rated motorsport circuit. Here, you can meet the challenge of putting a race-prepared V8 car through its paces for eight laps, at speeds it was built for, or get behind the wheel of a single seater race car – for as close to a Formula 1 or any Indy Car experience possible.

Just when you think you have had it all – hop into the passenger seat of the only 2019 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race car in the country for a ‘hot lap’. The car’s foundation is the acclaimed Vantage road car. Professionally built at the AMR Racing dedicated facility in the UK, the car features the same chassis and V8 powertrain as the road car. Further enhancements to the engine power and gearbox are optimised for racing. These also include light weight carbon fibre panels with radical changes to the aerodynamics, resulting in ultimate performance on the track.

The dream continues with a full range of Aston Martin 2019 models awaiting you at Huka Lodge; including Vantage, DB11 and DBS Superleggera available to test drive on a pre-selected drive route. Having experienced the Vantage GT4 race car it will now be possible to get behind the wheel of the road car and put this through its paces – we promise you won’t be disappointed. You could also be thrilled and exhilarated by experiencing the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, the most powerful DB production model in Aston Martin’s history. There is the potential to be spoilt for choice, so it may be best to drive all of them.

Back at Huka Lodge, the beautifully-appointed Alan Pye Cottage will be the Aston Martin headquarters for the event and the perfect venue for our Sommelier to present a Gin and Tonic clinic in the early evening. All this high speed activity will work up an appetite so a stunning five-course gourmet dinner, created by Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt, promises to be a convivial end to an amazing day.

For guests who choose not to take up the Formula Challenge, relaxing in-suite spa treatments are available at Huka Lodge.

Cost for one-night stay in a Junior Lodge Suite, on a double/twin occupancy basis, including all activities as listed = NZ$1,500.00 + GST per person, per night. Guests who extend their stay to two nights, will receive a complimentary lunch, accompanied by house wine = NZ$890.00 + GST per person, per night.
