Auckland honours Nelson Mandela International Day as Eden Park opens its gates for the Freedom Food Truck Festival!

Offering audiences a great range of culinary treats from around the globe, share in this opportunity to remember the legacy of one of the world’s most famous and admired leaders of freedom – Nelson Mandela, on the date of his birth.

Freedom colours will light up the iconic exterior of Eden Park to acknowledge and celebrate diversity and community, while a plethora of delicious street food will be available for you to share with your friends and family on this festive evening out.

The world-class Mandela: My Life exhibition will be open late to celebrate Mandela Day as the perfect accompaniment for the Freedom Food Truck Festival. The exhibition is curated from the extensive collections of The Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg, celebrating Nelson Mandela’s extraordinary life, and currently on display at Eden Park.

A rich selection of rare personal artefacts, film footage and documents, accompanied with newly created audio-visual pieces at the heart of the exhibition, offer an insight into the world that shaped Mandela’s life and journey. Many of these objects are on display outside of South Africa for the first time, to commemorate, illuminate, and share Nelson Mandela’s living legacy with the world.

The exhibition is a ticketed event, so make sure to book your exploration through the Mandela: My Life exhibition through Ticketek, and make the most of celebrating Mandela Day at Eden Park!
