We are delighted to announce that French director Bruno Sauvard will travel to New Zealand to present his amazing feature film Wine Calling!

On Friday 22 March at the Penthouse Cinema (7.30pm for an 8.30pm screening), join us for a special evening featuring a wine tasting and the screening of the French documentary Wine Calling.

Just after the screening, don't miss the Q+A with our special guest, director Bruno Sauvard!

Wine calling:
Recently the world of wine has been in full effervescence, shaken by a counter culture as strong as the rock scene was in its time. All around the world, joyous rebels have invaded the vineyards to create the wine they love: a natural wine free of codes and norms.

While there are more than 3,000 wine growers in France, less than 3% of them are working in bio, biodynamic or natural methods of wine production.

For ethical reasons, this relatively small community of wine growers has chosen environmentally friendly farming practices aimed at finding the natural expression of “terroir” – the full breadth of land, geography and climate – and the living character of the wine.

It’s in the south of France, in the heart of Catalonia, that Wine Calling has followed over a year, from the harvest to the bottling, some of the most exciting of these new wine growers, springboard of a rising global movement for taste and sustainability.
