The Funky Fishing & Diving Competition is now in its 17th year, based at Taurikura Bay, Whangarei Heads. A fundraiser for The Whangarei Heads School & Community Library, this event is all about getting mates, families out on the water, having fun, a fish, appreciating our beautiful coastal environment and returning to our event base at Taurikura Bay, to enjoy our Funky Fish & Diving Festival.

The fishing competition starts on Saturday 2nd March 2019 from 3pm and runs until weigh-in closure at 2:30pm on Sunday 3rd March 2019. The Funky Fish has heaps of fishing & diving categories and caters for all ages with great fishing prizes, our main prize travel draw, plus plenty of spot prizes, thanks to our amazing community businesses & organisations. Go to the website for tickets, plus competition rules and information.
