A weekend of action awaits at Rotorua’s spectacular Blue Lake so get ready for a totally new take on the only fresh water event in the Banana Boat New Zealand Ocean Swim Series…

One day in the North Island’s adventure capital just isn’t enough, especially with such incredible terrain and stunning scenery on offer…so the Generation Homes Legend of the Lake now has two days’ worth of action at the Blue Lake (Lake Tikitapu) across Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March 2019.

And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, a brand new event will be making its debut – The Amphibian!

From the leisurely 500m swim to the 1km and 2.5km challenges, we’ve got you covered with a decent range of options, but what if you want more fresh water action? Get ready for the 5km ultra distance happening for the very first time.

Launching this season, The Amphibian takes your personal pursuit to a whole new level with a 1.5km swim, 3km forest run followed by a 500m swim around the shoreline of the stunning Blue Lake. It’s an individual challenge like no other!

Three distances in the The Banana Boat OceanKids Series means that young swimmers can have the swim of their life at six of our annual events! The 100m swim is perfect for those starting out or finding their flippers in the ocean aged 7 and 8 years old, and the 200m distance is ideal for 9 and 10 year olds. If your 11 and 12 year old tadpole is looking for a bit more of a challenge have a go at the 300m distance.

The Jetstar Super Swim Squad has been an awesome fixture for the past 5 years as part of Jetstar’s sponsorship. Jetstar has chosen to move on this season so unfortunately there won’t be a Squad Camp but we still have loads of great rewards for swimmers in our Banana Boat OceanKids Series, including a finishers medal, photo and video!
