Gloria in Excelsis

The Zimbelstern Foundation are delighted to present an organ concert on ANZAC Day concert ‘Gloria in Exclesis - Remembering the Fallen’. The concert features CHristopher Lynch, assistant Organist at Christchurch Transitional Cathedral.

Chris serves as the principal organist for the Choir of Men and Boys at the cathedral, playing for six weekly choral services. Previously, Lynch was Assistant Organist-Choirmaster at Trinity Cathedral in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Christopher studied organ performance and early music at Indiana University, USA, where his teachers included Janette Fishell, Bruce Neswick, Jeffrey Smith, Christopher Young and Elisabeth Wright. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana.

Before coming to New Zealand, Lynch served on the music staff of Episcopal cathedrals and parish churches throughout the United States. In 2017, Lynch was named on the “20 under 30” list by Diapason Magazine. The list identifies the top 20 talents working in the field of organ performance and church music in the USA under the age of 30.
