‘Go with Tourism’ is a new and game-changing job connector platform, spearheaded by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED). This year, it will have its own feature expo site at the NZ Careers Expo in Auckland, showcasing just how exciting and successful a career in tourism can be.

‘Go with Tourism’ is an initiative created for the boom in the tourism industry—the need to find 36,000 tourism workers across New Zealand by 2025—and additionally, the need to change negative perceptions of the industry; research found that the people who give young people career advice are not strong advocates for tourism work.

The objective of this dedicated expo is to educate visitors on the great potential the tourism industry can offer—a variety of career pathways and opportunities for the emerging workforce that can lead to a successful lifelong career.

Sixty stands and three interactive zones will be on offer, all managed by a variety of different tourism businesses and educators. The expo will be a hub of support, advice and information for attendees, and even provides the opportunity for some hands-on experience.

Tourism is an exciting and booming industry worldwide and through this event Auckland’s youth will learn exactly why they should ‘Go with Tourism’.
