Gordon Walters grew up in Rongotai, attended classes at Wellington Technical College, and exhibited early work at the public library.
Join us at Te Papa to hear Julia Waite, one of the curators of Gordon Walters: New Vision, talk about the exhibition and the Wellington libraries, museums, and coffee houses that shaped his life and practice.
Then we’ll head to McLeavey Gallery for afternoon tea with Hilary and Olivia McLeavey. They'll talk with Julia about the gallery and Walters’ relationship with his art dealer, Peter McLeavey.
