Gravel Royale

Rotorua as long been considered a mecca in the world of Mountain Biking but what about the gravel roads, well its time for the Gravel Grinders to rejoice with Rotorua’s very own 100% gravel road cycling event.

Get out you gravel, Cyclo cross, mountain bike or eBike to take on the inaugural Gravel Royale.

Race Options
The courses is fully marked are is designed to be achievable and challenging. The two distance are using forest roads, the surface is variable with a large portion of the the course hard pack and small sections for looser gravel and water bars. The course does not use any mountain bike trails.

Registration Pick Up:
If you have entered online you can pick up your race packs on the time below at event HQ. Avoid the ques and book a postal race pack delivered 2 weeks prior to the event. Late entries also accepted on the day unless sold out prior.

Overall Prize Money:
42KM Event - Prize money is awarded to the over all top 3 male and females. The athlete must be present to claim the prize money.

1st $300, 2nd $200 & 3rd $100
*There must be 100 riders entered into the the specified distance otherwise prize money is reduced to 75%, less than 15 riders will be reduced to 50%, less than 5 riders will see prize money awarded at 25 %, less than 3 rider will will have only first place awarded prize money to the value of 20% of the advertised value. *eBike are not eligible for prize money.

Sprint Prize Money*:
42KM Event - Prize money is awarded to the over all top 3 male and females in the sprint. The athlete must be present to claim the prize money.

1st $75, 2nd $50 & 3rd $25
*There must be 20 riders entered into the the specified gender otherwise prize money is reduced to 25 %, less than 3 rider will will have only first place awarded prize money to the value of 20% of the advertised value. *eBike are not eligible for prize money.

KOM/QOM Prize Money:
42KM Event - Prize money is awarded to the over all top 3 male and females in the sprint. The athlete must be present to claim the prize money.

1st $100, 2nd $80, 3rd $60
*There must be 20 riders entered into the the specified gender otherwise prize money is reduced to 25 %, less than 3 rider will will have only first place awarded prize money to the value of 20% of the advertised value. *eBike are not eligible for prize money.

Podium Medals:
Podium medals are award to the top 3 male and female riders of each age group, you must be present to claim the medal.

Age Groups - age taken as at the 31st of December 2018.

Junior 12-19 - Senior 20 -29 - Masters 30-39 - Veteran 40-49 - Classics 50+ 59 - Super Classic 60+
