Ewe will love our annual event!

Proudly organised by the Waitomo District Council, the Great New Zealand Muster is Te Kuiti's annual community event. A cross between a country fair and a rural extravaganza, it truly is kiwi heartland at its best.

Te Kuiti’s main street is transformed with displays and specials to capture your attention. Sheep themed signs decorate shop fronts, sidewalks are lined with fantastic products, food stalls, arts and crafts displays and rural exhibits. Everywhere you look, there’s something happening.

Enjoy the entertainment on the main stage with performers showcasing their skills. There are exciting competitions, talented performers, and sheep mustering skills on display.

- Free children's rides.
- Food, arts and crafts stalls
- Sheep Run
- Live music and entertainment on stage
- Diesel train visit to Te Kuiti Railway Station
- Fun activities for the teens

Located in the heart of the activity are our beautifully restored Railway Station buildings - home to the Sir Colin's Meads Statue and the Gallagher Meads Brothers Exhibition. Experience this exhibit of memorabilia from both brothers' rugby careers, and get yourself a limited edition Sir Colin Meads t-shirt.

Once you’ve checked out Te Kuiti, “Shearing Capital of the World”, adventure into our vibrant and thriving Waitomo District – the caving adventures, glowworms, black water rafting, stunning waterfalls, hunting and fishing, the rugged coastline, walking and hiking tracks, and of course New Zealand's best Timber Trail cycleway in Pureora.

Waitomo offers an experience unlike any other! For more information about what to see, bookings and accommodation, please contact the friendly team at the Te Kuiti i-Site, Te Kuiti or phone 07-878-8077.
