This is a 2-day event where everyone gets to build and program their own mobile robot from scratch. You will come out of the second day with your own slightly crazy fully programmable mobile Grunge-Bot. The Grunge Bots components are assembled free-form with hot glue, duct tape, cable ties, rubber bands and lots of creativity onto whatever interesting body is handy.

The robot brains (Arduino) are first programmed, first just to drive it around blind without any sensors. You then go on to add touch/bump sensors and finally ultrasonic sensors complete the main project. Depending on progress other interesting environmental sensors and questionable features might also be added. At the end of the second day, the newly create autonomous robotic life forms will be taken home.

A range of other sensors will be available for participants with pre-existing skills. The newly create robotic life forms are taken home at the end of the day.

Goal: Going from having no idea what you're doing, to making and programming your own mobile robot.

Target age: 11 years and up. Adult participants and teachers very welcome.
Cost includes the robot kit and lunches.
Limited sponsorship is available where cost is a barrier.
