The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is a fully fenced and pest free 690 hectares, just six km from Nelson’s city centre. During Conservation Week, we are offering the opportunity to take a guided walk in this special area of native bush and find out how the sanctuary project is progressing and what exciting developments are coming next.
There are two walks to choose from:
An easy one-hour guided walk around the valley floor of the Sanctuary including details of the wildlife and history of this beautiful valley that used to be the water catchment for Nelson.
Cost $8 per adult, children $3.
A three-hour guided tramp along our network of tracks to parts of the Sanctuary that visitors do not normally have access to. Cost $15 per adult, children (over 5) $5.
