Queen Elizabeth Park is one of our busiest regional parks but there are still hidden secrets to discover. Want to find out what they are? Come along to the ranger guided tour of the Wetland Loop to hear the stories behind the nature and history of this track. Experience the remnant forest which is home to our giant native kahikatea trees and one of the best spots for shade on a hot, summers day in the park. Keep an ear out for fantails, dabchicks and more as you wander around the wetland, through forest and over low dunes.
The walk is around 2-3 km and will take about an hour to complete. Meeting point will be at the Ramaroa building at MacKay's Crossing entrance.
Please bring:
- Suitable walking shoes
- Waterproof jacket
- Bottle of water
