Join NZ artist Kelly Spencer for an immersive workshop in the art of hand lettering. She will guide you through her creative process, from concept and sketch to development and production, working towards a bespoke finished piece.
There are only 9 spots per class! But both classes will be following the same curriculum.
The class will focus on the the basics of construction of various letterforms, crafting and pairing different styles. We’ll explore shape, form and layout, with attention to positive and negative space. You will walk away with your own design ready to be transferred and completed on canvas, chalkboard, cards… anything!
This class is best suited to people at a beginner-intermediate level of lettering, including students, hobbyists, designers, and people wanting to develop their analogue lettering skills. All are welcome. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding hand lettering and professional design processes.
Basic materials will be provided, ie: paper, pencils, erasers, sharpeners and brush pens. Please feel free to bring any additional preferred materials ie: favourite brush pens, brush and ink/paint, ink pens, colour pencils, whatever makes you happy.
