Learn how to create stunning hand-tied bouquets with vintage florist Kristen Somerville.
We’ll show you the basics of spiral binding and how to choose flora to create bouquets with that wild, rustic, just-picked look. If you like buying market flowers but lack the confidence to display them, we'll show you how you can put them together with what's in your garden to create a beautiful, heartfelt seasonal bouquet. We’ll supply all the floral materials but if you have a pair of clippers please do bring them along.
At XOX we take a raw, stripped back approach to floristry, using only NZ grown flowers and brown paper wrap for our bouquets, preferring our work to speak for itself rather than the packaging. Inspired by Taupo's colder climate and rugged landscape our floral work captures that untamed, rustic feel of the Central Plateau.
Our workshops are held at the French Cottage where Beauty on Location is situated at 53 Gillies Ave, Taupo
