Men of Ōtautahi. Hard-ly Speaking is back! As always, our mission is create a space for men to connect, celebrating the frank conversations that spark social change.

Colin Mansbridge CEO of the Crusaders, Mike Brown of adaptdefy, Crossover Coach founder Tyla Harrison-Hunt, builder Trevor Hone, self-described know-all grandad Garry Moore, and positive mental health advocate and rower Isaac Giesen share their life lessons in four-minute rounds.

Chase it all down with bevvies and bites from legendary local businesses, and you’ve got yourself Hard-ly Speaking; a grassroots movement that knows how to have a good time.

This time around, we’re proud to announce a new partnership – one that will strengthen our impact and allow us to make tangible change in our city. Introducing: PlaceMakers Canterbury. These legends have been building communities for over 35 years – and working in a male-dominated industry, they know the value in fronting up to the tough stuff.

"We’ve partnered with Hardly Speaking because we believe in the importance of bringing men together in our community. We can’t wait to hear the stories of resilience, hope and success and the impact they will make on the husbands, partners, fathers, uncles and brothers who attend. Because we’re all about building Canterbury, on and off the building site.“ – James Munro, PlaceMakers Canterbury

Once again, we'll be gathering at the epic Christchurch BMW Showrooms for an evening of food, drink and frank conversation.

Coming at you for another fast, furious and thought provoking evening – it’s Hard-ly Speaking round three.
