London has been a centre of Classical music and great composers and musicians travelled or stayed in London such as Handel, Mozart and Haydn.
The London symphonies, sometimes called the Salomon symphonies after Johann Peter Salomon who introduced London to Joseph Haydn, were composed by Joseph Haydn between 1791 and 1795. They can be categorized into two groups: Symphonies Nos. 93–98, which were composed during Haydn's first visit to London, and Surprise Symphony is one of most famous work composed in London and other works were composed after visited London.

Dr Jucheol Wang/ Music Director and conductor:
Prior to his arrival in New Zealand, Wang was the founder, director, and bassist for the Seoul Uniss chamber orchestra. Wang has been an assistant conductor at University of Iowa Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted Seoul Women’s University Orchestra and Korean Philharmonic of New Zealand. He has also served as a jury member for several major music competitions including the Vienna International Music Competition in Austria, Music Journal Competition and Kookmin Ilbo Competition in Korea. As an educator, Wang has taught at Kun-san National University in Korea, Univ of Iowa, Clark High School and Armstrong Middle School in Texas and he has published the Method Book for the beginner in Korea which is the first book written by a Korean. His qualifications include a Master’s degree in orchestral conducting and a doctorate degree in double bass performance from University of Iowa and Master’s degree from University of North Texas in U.S.A. Chung-ang University in Seoul Korea (BMus). Recently, he conducted the Seoul Uniss Chamber Orchestra’s 20th anniversary concert in Korea. Wang is the head of music at Rosmini College as well as the president of the Music Association of Korea in New Zealand.

Huw Dann/Trumpet Solo:
Huw completed his BMus at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. Huw was a member of the Sydney Sinfonia, a training program run by the Sydney Symphony from 2005-2007 and from 2007-2009 studied at the Center for Advanced Musical Studies (USA), where he studied with trumpeters Hakan Hardenberger, Thomas Stevens, Mark Gould, Markus Stockhasen, Stephen Burns and Edward Carroll.
Before moving to Auckland in 2009, Huw freelanced in Melbourne, performing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Huw worked with the Melbourne Symphony’s education program and was Head of Brass at Presbyterian Ladies’ College (Melbourne).
Huw enjoys reading, cryptic crosswords and is a passionate supporter of the Melbourne Demons.

Soprano/ Christina McDonald is a 24-year-old Soprano just finishing up her Bachelor of Music (Hons) Majoring in Classical performance - voice, at the University of Auckland. She began training in Classical style singing at the age of 12 and has had a passion for sharing her joy of classical singing with others ever since. Christina has played the lead in three Gilbert and Sulivan operettas, including Mabel (2014) in Pirates of Penzance, Yumyum (2015) in the Mikado, Casilda (2015) in the Gondoliers at Torbay Theater and performed in four Opera scenes shows put on by the University of Auckland. She regularly competes in performing arts competitions and two of her recent successes have been coming 1st in the Vocal section of the West Auckland Performing Arts Competition (2018) and being nominated for/competing in the National young Performer of the year award competition (PACANZ, 2018). When not performing as a soloist, Christina continues to share her passion by doing vocal coaching for primary school, high school and community choirs and teaches voice privately.
