Healthy Cities and Communities

How can we create public spaces in our cities that welcome children’s presence and nurture their wellbeing? A place to start is to recognise children as experts in their own lives and engage them in co-designing public spaces that meet their needs and aspirations.

Professor Karen Witten will discuss case studies in central and suburban Auckland where children’s voices are contributing to the re-design of streets and public spaces to create more inclusive environments to support individual and community wellbeing.
