She will tell the story behind the rise and decline of Chinese laundries in New Zealand and some of the major laundries trading in Auckland.

Joanna’s book 'Starch Work by Experts' is published by the Chinese Poll Tax Heritage Trust ($49.95) and will be available for purchase (cash only) on the night.

Drinks and nibbles will be served from 6.15 pm. Koha appreciated. All proceeds to Parnell Heritage Inc.
